Are absolutely ALL clothes "do not tumble dry" now then??

It seems that way when going thru my laundry yesterday. What the blumming heck can I actually put in the thing clothes-wise (sheets & towels seem to be OK). Too scared to put in DH's posh T-shirts, but even sports gear says DNTD and surely that is meant to be washed and dryed frequently? Does this drive you mad, or do you just bung it all in anyway?

DH is of the "bung it in regardless" school of thought, which is why I've sent him out running in t-shirts that are almost belly tops . He learned the hard way not to tmble dry my things. Yes it is bloody annoying, but I do make judgement calls on what I think will survive and bung them in from time to time.

More and more stuff does seem to be - even 100% cotton T shirts. I think it's just them covering themselves and I usually try to be pragmatic and look at what it's made of, rather than what the care labels say.

Quite possibly it's because tumbledryers in britain are very unkind to clothes. Not sure why this is but my mom's in the US doesn't seem to destroy things quite so quickly.

I hang up bras, business shirts, sports wear, nice sweaters and anything with lycra. Everything else (especially all of DD's things) just goes in.

I've noticed this on a lot of clothes. And also all the George@Asda stuff has a 30 degree wash temp. I did wonder if this was them encouragin people to save the planet, but recently I put in Dses school trousers, DS1s had 30 deg, DS2 had 40, and their sweatshirts had 40, so washed it all at 40, teh trousers with 30 shrank. So maybe they are using cheaper fabrics!
just a thought
