I’ve got a double sink. The waste plumbing only has a u-bend after the second sink, so the first sink has an almost horizontal pipe going to the second sink before it drops down to the u-bend. All the pipework prior to the u-bend gets coated with sink sludge, and it gets a bit smelly.
I pour hot water and soda crystals down, followed by enzyme sticks every month but they don’t seem to help. Today I dismantled all the pipework to clean it out, which was a bit of a nightmare.
All the cleaning products only act on the bottom of the pipe, leaving all the sludge around the top. I’ve tried a couple of foaming cleaners but they didn’t eradicate the smell either.
Any recommendations please for a good foaming product?
