Quick-dry towels

Daughter is living in a poorly insulated, cold flatshare where they are all trying desperately to keep energy bills manageable, so the heating is on just an hour morning and evening and they don’t use a tumble dryer. She says the worst thing is her towels never dry properly so she’s going to have to abandon the thick, fluffy ones she loves.☹️ Without resorting to those camping/swimming quick-dry type towels you get in outdoor shops, can anyone recommend any that might be better than the standard type?

Hammam towels? Or lots of places do towels that are fluffy on one side and plain cotton on the other.

She could take hers to a launderette just to finish them in the dryer having mostly dried on the rack.

I don't think changing the towels is really going to help in the long run (although microfibre one's really are the best option in this case). It sounds to me like the flat could have a high humidity problem. Clothes that aren't tumble or line dried will only add to the problem' making it more damp. Maybe a small (cheap to run) dehumidifier for the flat/or even her room would help. It'll help it feel warmer and obviously will mean things dry quicker. Or they could invest in a heat pump tumble dryer for the flat which are much more economical to run.
