Without excessive licenses, insurance etc.

What are the essentials?

You have to have insurance.

Insurance and the right equipment are the only essentials I can think of

It's a really decent living. There are only two people doing in in my small town of 25000 people and there's an 8 month waiting list. One person can do a maximum of 5 ovens a day but its £50 an oven.

Go for it!

Several companies around me do oven cleaning. I love my oven after it's been done

The bloke who does mine has a little portable gas burner that he uses to soak boil the grid shelves while he's cleaning the oven. They come out sparkling.

I'm quite rural, but there are loads of people round here advertising in village magazines and ringing us endlessly. I've tried out 3 so far. Only one has done a a decent job.

Thanks for your replies, very helpful! I especially like the idea of the gas burner, sounds fab.

I'm thinking of it as a little extra so the cost of the insurance might be the problem. I enjoy doing it though! Someone I did it for, to be helpful for fun, said they were really impressed so...

Hit me with your tips for cleaning, too; and I need to practice on my own in the meantime!
