Do I have unreasonable expectations?

We saw a cleaner advertising last January and decided to have a weekly clean. She started off well but became unreliable to the point it was more stress than it was worth and she was also massively undercutting her hours - she once charged £65 for a ‘deep clean’ but the ring doorbell showed she was only there for just over an hour.

I had a second baby in July and it was a c section so the house was looking a bit sorry for itself. Booked for a ‘deep clean’ in September and was happy with it so decided to book again thinking a once a month deep clean would work well. Again though they’ve done just an hour and to me a deep clean would be cleaning under the furniture and dusting and the bathrooms and kitchen. It looks superficially good but still dust and cobwebs when you really look.

I am not sure how to get what I want! I don’t know if I have too high expectations or if I’ve just been unlucky.

No, a deep clean is just that.

I work in a care home and the cleaners can fit 3 deep cleans in a 7.5 hour day. This is the deep clean of an average size bedroom and it's en suite.

For a house, I'd expect them to be there all day! Then again, the rate seems cheap.

I guess you need to be clear on what you get for your money. Maybe it's best to say that you want them to do X Y and X and get them to price accordingly?

Thanks @sangriapeople . It’s hard because I feel a bit taken advantage of which is never very comfortable! It’s a four bed house and there’s no way a deep clean would be done in an hour or two. Back to the drawing board …

Any agency or cleaner I've seen advertising 'deep clean' lists things that will be done as part of that service. We're they done? If not I'd have been taking photos and asking for it to be done properly (at no extra cost to me) or a full refund.

They're taking the P. We made a folder for our cleaner with whet we wanted doing weekly, fortnightly, less regularly. We have 3hrs per week for 5 bed house. When we go on hols they do deep clean stuff and inside drawers/cupboards/fridge/oven etc

Thanks. I do feel a bit put out. It’s frustrating as I do need/want that deep clean but no one seems to do it very effectively.
