Dutailier chairs - anyone know how to clean them?

Not sure what readily available product to use on the grubby cushions. Don't really want to have to gamble on what to use. The instructions aren't especially helpful - I don't think a damp cloth would do the trick - and you can't wash the covers.

Would be grateful for any advice.

I used 1001 carpet/upholstery cleaner on our (cheapo dutalier imitation) chair, just a patch, and it worked ok. Could try testing on the underside/back before doing the whole thing, whatever product you choose.

Thanks Scoobie - sorry, I didn't see your message until today. By chance I have just tried that product - sprayed it and brushed it - but it doesn't seem to have made an impact - or does it look better when I have vacuumed it?
