Stinky football boots

Does anyone have any tips for the smell, it's not a feet smell it's a wet plastic and something else smell. I've hand washed in bio and left to soak in detol which a has helped but not got rid. Anyone found the magic solution?

I’ve got a heated airer with a shoe thing on the bottom, I dry them on there which definitely helps. Apart from that I have a shoe spray deodoriser.

Do you put in dry teabags?

I just keep ours in the boiler cupboard. DS knows that as soon as they come off they go in there. If you can keep them as dry as possible it's easier. Nike are definitely worst. Adidas not too bad.

I used to soak a bit of kitchen roll in zoflora and scrunch into the boots and leave it in there. Worked a treat.
