Completely panicking. Putting clothes away and it was stuck to the back of the wardrobe. Is this a bedbug?!

I don’t think it’s a bedbug. I think it’s a type of carpet beetle. If you look around your windowsills are there any? The adults are attracted to light. The larvae eat wool so check anything made of wool in the wardrobe, especially anything you haven’t worn for a long while.

There was a spokesman for the pest control industry on the news last week. He confirmed that there had been a huge increase in the number of calls from householders concerned they might have bedbugs, but no increase at all in the number of properties where bedbugs have actually been found, which remains very low in the UK.
