Our dishwasher doesn't seem to be cleaning that well, we having changed anything product wise. It's about 6 years old, used every day. Could it be it needs a service? Not sure if that's even I thing!

Have you cleaned out the filters and the spinny Arms? Do you use salt and rinse aid? Run a dishwasher cleaner through it too

nc14 · 21/10/2023 21:37

Agree with @dementedpixie, this normally gets ours working again.

Cynderella · 21/10/2023 22:28

Another vote for taking arms and filters out and giving a good clean. I don't use rinse aid, but I do use salt now in a hard water area, so worth checking on that while you're there. I've also seen recommended running a wash with soda crystals or white vinegar in a cup. That might be a good shout if anyone in your house is a bit rubbish at scraping plates.

theduchessofspork · 21/10/2023 22:31

Mind does this occasionally, just needs a clean as above

Jellybean23 · 21/10/2023 22:35

Has something tall on the lower deck prevented the arm from spinning? Or maybe you have obstructed the tablet compartment in some way? Does all the tablet dissolve?

Theoldwoman · 21/10/2023 22:40

Six years of daily use could require a service. A good clean maybe? I steam clean mine. It comes up a treat.

PickledMuffin · 21/10/2023 22:48

thanks. i use the flash dishwasher cleaners every 2 months or so. should i do more?

Yes, remove the filters and clean them with soapy water. Remove and wash the arms if possible too

PickledMuffin · 22/10/2023 09:44

thank you 🙏

If you've never cleaned the filters it will be that. Warning as they will be absolutely gross. And be careful if you're digging around inside as you usually can't see and there could be broken glass in there if anything has ever smashed in your dishwasher.

BertieBotts · 22/10/2023 09:53

Filters should be cleaned regularly. If you're still getting issues despite cleaned out filters, the next thing to do is pull it out and check the drainage hose for blockages.

If you have checked this and it's fine then the next thing to do is listen when it's draining/pumping out - if the pump sounds off then it might have worn out.

Plus one more for cleaning the arms and the filters. 👍
