Space/Storage Issues in a Little House

Is it unusual to have to put some of yours and DH's clothes in child's bedroom - obvs hidden in drawers or wardrobe. We simply dont have the space in our room for all our clothes - and thats with half of them in the loft stored away for summer/winter.

And another thing - what age do the little ones really need hanging space in a wardrobe. Seems much better idea to me to use drawers but do most 2 year olds need wardrobe space?

My clothes are in the same wardrobe as my DDs and DHs are in the same wardrobe as DSs. It doesn't seem to bother anyone.

IME, when you have a tiny house you put things where they will fit.

Ds (6) and dd (4) don't have a wardrobe. The clothes that need to be hung up are hung on wall pegs.

I don't think it would matter what size the house was. I don't see any kind of problem in storing family stuff in individual children's rooms. They'll think it is normal so no problem.

My kids are 4.3 and 15 months, both still fine with a big set of drawers each. Maybe girls for dresses but you could just put a set of hooks on the wall, wardrobes take up so much space! Although the Ikea pax ones you could put drawers in to start with, then add a hanging rail later?
