Musty airing cupboard

We recently moved into an old house that was quite run down, the whole house smelled musty and a bit gross from old carpets and lack of fresh air.

We’ve cleaned everything and removed everything that needed replacing and now the house is fine, all except the airing cupboard. I’ve tried everything in there, leaving the door open for fresh air, cleaning the walls and floor multiple times, disinfectant, vinegar, baking soda, I used concentrated disinfectant in the end and left it completely undiluted and I can still smell the musty smell. I’ve taken all the wood out and replaced it, repainted, the cupboard and doors. It’s not a damp smell, just musty.
what can I do?? I don’t want to put any clothes in there in case they take on the smell!

Is there ventilation for the cupboard? I feel your pain because my house wasn't getting enough fresh air and I've had to take remedial action.

Or do you think there is a water leak nearby?
