If bleach doesn't get this stain out....

My son has moved schools and gone from navy polo shirts to white. He is 5, so naturally comes home with a number of weird and wonderful stains down him. 🤦🏻‍♀️. Every so often though, even bleach doesn't get the stains out. What works if bleach doesn't????
Some of these felt tip pens I swear are resistant enough for him to do a drawing in a cave, and it still be there 3000 years later 🙄

You just keep putting him in the same shirts. As long as they smell clean, who cares about the odd pen stain?

I just hold back one pristine one from the pack for school photos and assemblies.

Everyone is in the same boat. If they’re stained but clean, they’re clean. Your dc won’t be the only one!

What sort of bleach are you using? Is go for the oxygen bleach as opposed to chlorine, but before that try a little methylated spirit on a q-tip dabbed gently onto the pen stain. Some kitchen roll to blot, then wash.

Stain Devils are good- they are very specific but it sounds like it’s worth you getting the relevant one in.
Lemon juice and sunshine together are more effective than you might think but that’s not much use at this time of year.
I do agree with pp who said not to worry though.

Try solvents like meths or surgical spirit, or stain devils.

Hand sanitiser?

If not then the sun, although you will have to wait for that one.

This is why I'm glad my DD can wear a pinafore!

But like PPs, I would make sure the clothes are clean but wouldn't worry about a stain (unless it's massive tomato sauce stain covering the front of course, but I mean normal pen marks etc)

Not sure, just normal shop bleach..

Lynx aerosol is good at removing pen and permanent marker type stains.

My friend swears by ACE for whites. She soaks school polos in a bucket with it then washes them in the machine. I recently got some and just used it in the machine and DS karate gi was noticeably less grubby looking Grin
