I've bought a bottle in the Hope of making our bedding whiter - the instructions talk about putting it in the CL compartment of my washing machine which I assume is American?
Can anyone tell me how much to use and where to put it?
I've sloshed a bit in the detergent section of the drawer (I use laundry sheets in the drum for detergent
Google hasn't really helped me this time

I started using this a few months ago and put it in the soap draw. All the mould that was in the soap draw has disappeared so I am assuming it is strong stuff!

I use the same amount as the fabric conditioner - roughly 50ml.

Does it not say the softener compartment if no bleach compartment?

bananafishbones1 · 23/09/2023 11:36

My bottle of Ace says to pour directly on top of the washing in the drum

My bottle of Ace says to pour directly on top of the washing in the drum

Is that the one for colours?
The one for whites doesn't say that as it would probably bleach the items it touched when it wasn't diluted.

Thanks @dementedpixie however now I'm more confused than ever!
It says out in the fabric conditioner section if not using fabric conditioner - I do use fc bit also wouldn't that just add it in the rinse cycle?.
Or it says "start your pre-wash cycle, and while the water is running pour in 1 1/2 cups of ACE (225ml)." Yet the following paragraph says do not pre wash!

I recently bought a bottle of this for the first time. Did a wash without FC & just poured some of the bleach in the FC drawer. Didn’t really measure it, just sloshed some in. Worked a treat ( although clothes came out with quite an unpleasant bleach smell! I fear I may have used too much! 😬)

I think I'll do that then run a rinse cycle with fc.
When I took them out of the machine they smelt a bit bleachy but that's gone once they've dried (on the line) they do seem whiter (our bedding which was going a bit yellow in parts)

Daz powder instead of the washing sheets will get the result

The CL compartment is mainly found in US washing machines. It is the bleach compartment (CL is the symbol for Chlorine). It is dispensed at the beginning of the wash cycle as opposed to fabric conditioner which is dispensed at the rinse at the end of the cycle.

UK machines don't have the bleach dispensing part of the cycle for some reason.
