Bosch washing machine error E18 woes

Just wonder if anyone else has this issue ?
My Bosch washing machine has for the past 2.5 years been on a sort of 6
Month loop of repeatedly generating this code and despite twice now thinking it has been resolved ( once by removing a button found in the back hose bit and once by replacing the pump ) here I am again waiting for an engineer.

I guess it's quite a generic fault code ( it means the machine can't drain properly) but I don't know whether there is anything else that can be
Done with it if the
Pump has already been replaced.

Thanks for reading on such a dull topic
!

I mean, I’ve googled ‘Bosch e18 error code’ and there’s a wealth of information about the reason for the fault and how to fix.

Fits with you saying it happens every 6 months or so.

I’m assuming you remove the filter under the bottom arm and clean it? That normally resolves the error for me; chia seeds the culprit!

Thanks both !
Yes it's obviously quite a common issue but it just seems too often to be 'normal' really.
The machine is aging and I use it loads but right now I don't know if I would buy Bosch again as it's so tedious - I hear the 'error beep' and my heart sinks.
I am a pro at cleaning the filter - it happens so often that the t doesn't really get chance to get a build up of debris -
I'm often able to trick the machine into clearing the code by draining the filter and turning g machine on and off but at the moment I can't do that so am carting laundry up to PIL until the engineer can come !
Ugh - as you can probably tell it is driving me mad !

Turn the machine off at the wall, leave for a few minutes turn back on. This worked for my machine.

It usually resolves through me by clearing the filter. Most recent culprit was a hairband.

Mine does this. One fix I found was to pull it out and tilt it to the side (left I think) for a minute or so. That worked for a bit. Now I've found that if I use the auto program but press the vario speed plus button it works fine.

Oh sorry - I was talking about my dishwasher! Sorry.

I was baffled by the chia seeds, but still didn't stop to think it might not be a washing machine !

Hmmm based on the extra replies it seems to be quite common.
Still tedious though - I can't get it to work now despite clearing the filter and turning on and off.
Have had engineers out approx 6 times in two years.

Have a poke around behind the filter when you pull it out. When I've had this issue it's usually a small coin (5p or 1p) that's found its way through.
