Mould on car seat straps

Baby due in 4 weeks - just went to the loft to get the car seat and I find the straps all mouldy . What's the best way to wash them and even if I manage to clean them, would it be safe considering how close they will be to his face and breathing?

well apparently your not supposed to use anything but soap and water on them as it changes there size and damages the flame retardant chemicals they put on them

maybe call manufactorors and order new straps
