Hi everyone
I find these threads really helpful for keeping me going - got a few bits to do today so going to write a list and work through.

I’m leaving in 15 minutes to go and help out at a community event - I will be back at 12.15. Then I need to do lunch and clean up.

this afternoon
Clean and tidy living room
mow the lawn
tidy bedroom

MissMarplesNiece · 09/09/2023 08:18

Laundry & more laundry - came back from holiday yesterday.
Clean the car out
Give my garden some tlc

Thislittlepiggylikeschocolate · 09/09/2023 08:22

Ooh this is a good thread! I've already taken in the online shopping, put a wash on and hung out.

Need to:
Put a massive pile of clothes away
Peel and stew some apples
Sort out a huge log pile into crates. Not looking forward to this one!
Weed the garden
Clean the bathrooms

When does it end!

MyBedIsMySpiritualHome · 09/09/2023 08:33

Oooh lots of busy Saturdays today. @Thislittlepiggylikeschocolate your home sounds a bit like ours - I should really add ‘pick a ton of blackberries’ to my list before they go whammy! I have made 15th R’s of jam already and have about 10pms in the freezer, but loads more in the fields!

Not many cooking apples though this year, a storm blew most of the blossom off the tree!

I should also add about four loads of washing to the list. 😬

Dark load on -done
kids breakfasts- done
empty dishwasher - done
kids to tennis lessons
take down yesterdays washing x2, fold and put away
coloureds load on
decrumb cutlery drawer
clean extractor hood
clean kitchen blind
strip kids beds
remake kids beds
lunch
dinner

declutteringmymind · 07/10/2023 08:46

Good morning!

I need to iron! - this will be done while the youngest does revision.

One load if washing

Fridge clear out

declutteringmymind · 07/10/2023 08:46

And maybe a cupboard clearout.

Trevforsure · 07/10/2023 09:05

Morning. How much ironing do you have to do? Do you save it all up or it is just one load? My dad used to do the ironing when I was growing up and would save it all to do while watching the f1 or football at the weekend. I iron very little (so probably look a crumpled mess most of the time)

declutteringmymind · 07/10/2023 10:09

A full weeks worth of kits, uniforms for both me and the kids and husbands shirts. BUT I have tv I want to watch, and a badass steam iron so it will be ok. Plus I can keep a beady eye on the revision.

The fridge however. There is some kind of juice at the bottom of the veg drawer.

I am going to get a wash on, empty the fridge, put the dishwasher in and wipe the fridge shelves

Then tidy up the house - it's not too bad then get started on the ironing. Should get most or all of it done if I don't faff.

HandbagMarinara · 07/10/2023 10:18

Garden for me this morning. Radio keep saying it might be the last good weekend. But also need to do house.
I've dropped all children at work/sports/friends

So plan is

Garden 10.30-12.15

Prepare lunch and then watch the KO of the Spurs game whilst eating lunch.

12.45- 13.55 clean kitchen and wash floor.

14.00 -15.30 put on rugby and clean cloakroom and family bathroom

15.30- go collect children and get back for 17.15 and then proceed to properly watch the rest of the rugby.

Sunday

Lounge and stairs, change bedding before going to inlaws for roast at 12.00

Writing that down it doesn't seem very much and certainly seems doable but I tend to get overwhelmed and procrastinate.

HandbagMarinara · 07/10/2023 10:19

Fridge juice <boak> the joys of adulting.

HelpMeGetThrough · 07/10/2023 10:25

Think I can avoid the garden this weekend, as all is looking ok there.

So for me it's:

  • Clean downstairs (patio doors really need it).
  • Kitchen floor needs doing.
  • Tidy up bits and pieces that need getting rid of. It isn't at all untidy, but I hate things not put away properly.

This afternoon my OH is out with the youngest (16) as he's refereeing a match, so I'll crash on the settee with tea and a few episodes of Wheeler Dealers.

Trevforsure · 07/10/2023 18:25

Hope everyone got on ok today.
I got through everything on my list as well as an extra load of washing and some relaxation time sitting outside with a cup of tea and then watching the sprint shootout. Now time for the sprint race 😀

HandbagMarinara · 07/10/2023 18:28

I didn't do the floors but did do the lounge so counting that as a win. Actually found this thread very helpful so thanks all.

What is sprint shootout?

Lifeinlists · 07/10/2023 18:37

Cleaned garden table and chairs
Emptied shed
Sucked up dead woodlice etc in shed
Sorted countless boxes dumped in shed
Stacked table and chairs in shed (NB table legs detach)
Organised shed. No one allowed in except me now!
Swept patio
Got backache

Tomorrow - paint wood preserver on shed.
Thank goodness this is only once a year!
Unlike rest of house / garden...

Trevforsure · 07/10/2023 19:40

@HandbagMarinara Sprint shootout is Formula 1 related. Some weeks they do a shorter race (sprint race) as well as the main race and then the sprint shootout is qualifying for the sprint race to decide their starting positions.

Glad you found the thread helpful, I love a list thread!
