Hi. Has anyone used indorex spray around there home to try and stop spiders coming in.

I'm absolutely terrified of them to the point I'm nearly throwing up. I'm not to bad with little ones but this year they are huge!

One ran by my foot whilst on the toilet and it was so big it had pinchers.

Any success stories using this spray?

Yes I have some it's amazing stuff. Worth the cost

ParentingSolo · 07/09/2023 09:15

I'm exactly the same as you. Terrified of them and nobody in my life understands! I'm fine with the tiny ones and ones up to the size of a 20p piece roughly. That's taken yearsssss. Anything bigger and I'm shaking

Blabla81 · 07/09/2023 09:21

Yes we use it, as guilty as it makes me feel. Sprayed around each room and window sills, under beds, everywhere tbh. I opened my pyjama drawer 2 nights ago and one was in there - crawled out and thudded onto the floor. It then ran into my daughters barbie house never to be seen again. It’s probably dead now though as I sprayed it. I know plenty of people will say how awful it is to do this… I know it is and understand every reason why, but my fear of them (and my girls - yes it’s probably me that caused their fear) is ridiculous and it’s the only way to stop them coming in the house and running around. It definitely works btw.

momlife3 · 07/09/2023 09:36

@Blabla81 I'm gonna order some now. Where do I spray it?
Should I keep windows open and is it safe for babies?
I've got a 5 month old.

Is it the stuff that says it’s for fleas? I’m not usually so anti-spider but I’ve found a few false widows in the house over the past few weeks and I don’t want any more!

Giggorata · 07/09/2023 20:14

Just to try and minimise the poisons around the home, does anyone know if either Indorex or Deathlac also kills moths?

Tumbleweed101 · 10/09/2023 08:00

I’ve used it to kill fleas lately. Still got fleas and spiders 🙄. It’s normal to see spiders this time of year I think they are looking for mates so venturing out of their usual hiding places.

NeverDropYourMooncup · 10/09/2023 08:08

Those 'pincers' are his palps. They contain sperm. When he manages to get close enough to a female spider without being eaten, he puts one inside her.

So he may have run across the bathroom waving his willy at you - but it's not that he's big/got pincers, he's just an annoying bloke hoping to get laid.

dearanon · 10/09/2023 09:05

I've been using indorex for years.

Which one do you use?

dearanon · 10/09/2023 21:06

@Clettercletterthatsbetter

I can't attach pictures for some reason but if you type into Google (or amazon) indorex it comes up with it. It's officially called Virbac indorex defence spray and it's in a white can.

Clettercletterthatsbetter · 10/09/2023 21:45

Thanks @dearanon - is it the stuff that says it’s for fleas, or is there a spider one?

Blazzingsaddos · 12/09/2023 19:38

I use a peppermint spray I buy from Amazon and dilute it and spray round the exterior and find this really helps. Hardly get anything now

It's the flea spray.

MadonnaLouiseVeronicaCiccone · 10/09/2024 18:15

Sorry I know this is an old thread but fucking hell they are huge this year!

DatingDinosaur · 14/09/2024 12:32

I've been using household flea spray for years to stop bugs and critters coming in.

Started off treating the house after a hot summer and flea infestation and noticed that the silverfish, woodlice and even slugs! and other little things weren't coming in. (very damp, old house)

Spray around the edges of all floors and windows.

BiotexBaby · 14/09/2024 15:27

I'd highly recommend this:
https://www.lakeland.co.uk/25429/spider-ex-aerosol-spray-300ml

It was developed to stop spiders walking over alarm sensors and has two parts I think - one is something in it that makes spiders not be able to grip or find it harder to grip and one part is spider toxic and kills spiders

It's awesome but it is toxic as it has 0.25% w/w Permethrin in it.

It's good for spraying outside around window frames. If you want to spray it in the frame itself you will need to leave the windows open for ventilation for a while.

I couldn't recommend enough though. its great.

ayepecking · 02/08/2025 08:38

Spider Ex has now been discontinued (: Does anyone have any back up sprays?

Iamthemoom · 02/08/2025 08:53

I mix up a big bottle of peppermint essential oil and water and spray windows, skirtings, radiators, corners etc and I haven’t had a single one this year. I also spray a ring around the bed!
Other anti you know what tips from a huge arachnophobe - keep your house very clean, no clutter, hoover regularly and have as many cats as you can manage! I watched my cat lift a huge one in the garden last week and chomp it down. Made us both happy!

ayepecking · 02/08/2025 09:39

Yes, I've just sent away for peppermint oil and a spray bottle from Amazon. I had a slug trail on my inside doormat this morning too. Aaargh. No sign of slug!
