Mould and soda crystals fiasco

Help!

We had an unknown bathroom leak and there's a panel behind the bathroom that was getting dripped into and is covered in thick mould.

DP decided he was going to "deal with it" while I was away recently and he removed the panel snd covered it in soda crystals. So now when you look in the hole its just full of soda crystals.

I'd been planning to spray it with vinegar or bleach to kill the mould, but he misunderstood how mould works and thought the soda crystals would "clean it".

We don't need to clean it, we need to kill it. Assuming I can't now spray it with bleach or vinegar as it would react with the sofa crystals.

I can't really remove them as it's so awkward to reach...any ideas?

Google chemical reactions to see what would be safe. And stick the vacuum cleaner in.
