Removing mildew from garden sofa cushions? 💦

Is it possible?!

I’m going to predict that putting them in the washing machine would do nothing.

The covers are cream. Perhaps black mould spray…?

I would try cleaning vinegar first, then wash, then leave to dry in as much sunlight as possible.

The most important bit in my experience is to choose a sunny day to dry the items outside. If necessary make then wet again while they’re in the sun until it all disappears.

Sorry, this isn't what you want to hear, but.... we ended up replacing the covers! I tried everything, starting with vinegar, then washing machine, then full on bleach in a bucket, and eventually gave up! I now have grey cushions.
