Shower running water after bring turned off?

For the last week or so the electric shower continues to run water for about 3-4 minutes after being turned off?
I took the shower head off to clean it a week or so before this started happening so not sure if I disturbed something?
Took the shower head off again last night to check and tightened it up but still happened this morning...any idea why it's happening and can I do anything I really can't afford a plumber at the moment 😩TIA

I’d probably stop using it if I couldn’t afford a repair tbh. When our shower went it just kept flooding out completely and wouldn’t turn off at all. We ended up having to turn the water feed off and, as we had no bath at the time, I had to shower using a jug for a week until we could sort it.

Do you have a bath where you could fit one of those shower hoses to the taps as a temporary measure?

is it hot or cold that’s running? Not that this makes any sense to me.
If when you switch off the shower at the main isolator and the shower keeps running then you have a faulty solenoid valve. When you switch off the shower at the main isolator and the water stops running, then you have a faulty on/off switch or a faulty PCB or a micro switch that is sticking on.

@BafflingAndBothersome thanks for reply..it's cold water that keeps running for a few minutes after being turned off.. no sense to me either I haven't a clue
Think I'll have to ring a plumber next week..I can't fix it and it's not going to stop ..it's just an expense I can't afford at the moment but needs most always the way
