I've reduced my use of fabric conditioner (FC) and use white vinegar for a final rinse. I miss the shell of FC. I've read FC coats clothes and makes towels less absorbent. An expert in a documentary also advised most modern fabrics do not need FC.
While clothes are drying outside in the warmer weather, clothes smell lovely and the vinegar smell is completely gone. When it's colder, I will dry clothes inside on the maiden, they take longer to dry and I can detect a faint sweet smell of the vinegar. I have a very sensitive nose though!
Are the scent boosters an alternative to fabric conditioner? Or are they basically the same thing but a solid version?
Also how much of the boosters to use? In the adverts they put a whole capful of scent booster in which seems excessive as they are strong and cost a fortune!
