How do you get stains like this out?

My sons clothes are constantly stained. Brand new stuff becomes unwearable within a day.

Thus has had 2 goes with a stain remover when it first happened, and 2 washes. It remains!! It was a chocolate ice lolly.

What would you use for this kind of thing?

I usually try rubbing washing up liquid into stains before washing with bio powder

@dementedpixie thanks. I only use non bio. Might this be why stains are impossible to remove?

Proper biological powder. Leave the non bio for when they don't get mucky anymore.
And definitely washing up liquid. Better than any more expensive stain remover!

Bio has enzymes to break down food stains so it's what I always use.

Natureswick · 28/08/2023 20:21

Vanish spray on it straight away and then a toothbrush scrub with washing up liquid (I have kitchen toothbrushes for this sort of thing) before washing with bio stuff.
Most importantly though, I avoid white clothes like the plague for my sons.

yes to bio powder.
the 'non bio is better for skin' spiel is s bit of a myth. if you havd sensitive skin try an extra rinse.

and using the long cotton cycles of your machine.
the short ones are ok to freshen up clothes that aren't really dirty imo.

Antibacterial handwash and a good scrub works for me!

purplecorkheart · 28/08/2023 20:41

I tend to dampen the stain and use liquid hand soap rubbed in both sides. It works on nearly all stains for me. I haven't come across a good stain remover tbh

Jellybean23 · 28/08/2023 23:22

I use Dr Beckman's carpet stain remover , then wash with bio powder.

Thanks all. I went and got some Ariel bio, after a soak in that and Ace, then a wash, it’s looking MUCH better.

I’ve just always used non bio, think it’s what my family must have used growing up. Bio definitely smells stronger, or maybe it’s just Ariel itself!

I see you have sorted your problem, but another tool for you and anyone else who searches this in the future is Astonish/Vanish soap bar stain remover. Wet the stain with cold water and give a good rub with the soap bar. Let sit for a while then wash as normal.
