Towels leaving lint on me

Does anyone else have this problem?

Do I just have bad towels?

They're Habitat. New. Have been washed a few times, still leaving bits of themselves on me when I dry myself. Very annoying. I have to use moisturiser daily for eczema. You know when you're at the beach and you reapply sunblock and it's all gritty with sand, no matter how carefully you brush yourself off first? Feels like that. Every blooming day 😠.

Am I doing something wrong with my towels? I have older towels that aren't doing this.

The label on these newer ones says 100% Egyptian cotton. I thought that was a good thing. Should I be buying towels made of something else?

I had this with a cotton set of towels from John Lewis - took them back and got a full refund, as they continued to shed and, being red, it looked like we had a contagious disease. They left fibres everywhere and were not fit for purpose.

Mine are green! I must look mouldy 😅. Hmm wonder if it's just the reduction in quality that's happening everywhere then. I can't take them back unfortunately, I bought them over a year ago but never got round to using them until now. Glad you managed to get a refund though.
