Replacing fan on a ninja airfryer

DH is good at electronics & I am trying to convince him to look at some youtube videos about this. He can tell voltage is fine & I think the air vents aren't clogged, so probably fan motor has gone. The Fryer (550?) is out of warranty.

Just wondered if anyone had repaired their own, have you any tips, & if this was common problem/reason air fryers die. Looks like the fryer might be fetch £20 as spares on ebay, otherwise. We were talking about air fryers as false economy if they only last 2-3 years.

Just us, then?
There's a whole reddit thread on this, so thought it might be more common.

There is a thermal fuse on the fan transformer (around the top of the fan spindle). It is difficult to access but possible and far cheaper to repair than replacing the unit. When you get the plastic cover off you trace the power cables into the trans former and can very, Very carefully cut the binding tape around the transformer at the raised area only where the wires are folded (you can see this clearly when you're there). If you go too deep or anywhere else you will cut the transformer windings - end of fan! Carefully fold back the tape from the wires to expose an odd looking fuse. You have 2 choices. 1- replace the fuse (recommended). 2- bypass the fuse by joining the wires (not recommended but will work). Test it before use with a safety plug adapter (trip socket). Good luck!
