Heard commotion downstairs- My dog took off and found a fox in the downstairs sitting room.

Fox had some serious teeth on it, and was hissing

I managed {just} to stop Whippet and fox from getting bitten {Whippet would have come off the worst} and the fox bolted towards back door with Whippet in full pursuit- but the pools of pee it made STINK

Please can anyone advise me on what to do??

I'm going to have to buy a new mop as fox pee reeks.

Foxes are a bloody menace- they come into houses even where there are dogs- not very bright.

I would use biological washing powder with enzymes in it.

That’s weird. You’ll probably have to replace the carpet.

I’d get some of the stuff from a pet shop that cleans animal pee, it works really well to take away the smell.

Thanks all
I’m hoping worst of its pee was on hard surface but room with carpet in is a bit reeky
I used white vinegar on worst of on hard floor, but enzyme cleaner for puppy pee might work better
foxes just STINK
It was probably a young one- I was terrified it would attack my dog as it was in a corner.

I’d cooked chicken
That maybe enticed it in.
Keeping back door shut from now on though .

No harm to either animal- just maybe a carpet replacement.

On way to Tesco for bicarb.

Not to freak you out but this will come up on most discussions about foxes getting in the house. She's a former Vogue editor and had gotten mange from one who got onto her sofa.

@PumpkinSpiceSeason I looked at it and it didn’t look mangy
Whippet takes an anti mange /flea tick medicine
If I see any symptoms I’ll visit GP!
