Horrible smell in blender

Does anyone know why my blender smells terrible, even though it's washed thoroughly after each use? I use it to make oat pancakes each morning using pretty bland ingredients (oats eggs milk almonds) and as soon as I finish it wash it with soapy water and a scourer then I pop it in the dishwasher. Once the dishwasher dries I put it back on its stand (ninja) but when I go to use it the next day it smells like sick when I open it Envy it's definitely clean though so it doesn't make sense to me! I've had it a few years. Any ideas?

Try soaking it in a solution of bicarbonate of soda?

Try keeping the lid off when stored. Even a tiny bit of moisture can make it smell.

Probably the milk. I'd pop a Milton tablet in it

Definitely don't seal it when it's been washed, I keep the lid loosely on mine to allow air to flow. Otherwise it smells! Same for any sealable containers.

Does it smell cheesy? If so, it points to debris and milk residue trapped under the blades. How do you wash the blender? Do you put hot water and detergent in the goblet and turn it on? I do that a few times, then again with hot water to rinse it. Never had a smells issue.

I presume you're taking it apart completely and washing the blades and seal etc?

We have a ninja and liquid was getting in under the O ring in the lid. Couldn’t get it clean without removing the ring and scrubbing underneath.

This.

Definitely run it with hot soapy water.

Leave it to air dry and don't put the lid on.

Does the base of yours where the blades are unscrew? We had one where over time food had seeped through and it just smelt of sour milk. Then one day I discovered that the inside of the base unscrews, I stuck it in the dishwasher and voilà problem solved.
