Organising but house still a state

Does anybody else feel they are fighting a losing battle by organizing their home when they live with children and a man!!

Why don't people put things back where they belong!

Why is the house a mess every single day when I have tidied it!!!

I am at the point where I don't do anything but then I will end up having to pick up the pieces and organising and tidying the whole house when it becomes even worse!

In my house its leaving doors open - microwave doors, fridge doors, snack drawer etc. Argh! And lids off butter so the cat thinks all his Christmases have come.

It's so frustrating, isn't it?

I've been trying so hard to get on top of everything this summer holiday. DH has been clearing his mother's and grandmother's houses. He keeps coming back with family mementos that absolutely "must" be kept. 😫

We need a serious de-clutter, but we aren't going to get one because DH seriously hangs onto things. He can't bear to throw a book out so we have gained 2 houehold's worth of them.

In the meantime out toddlers destroy the playroom every. Single. Day. My eldest is better but there are always bits of clothes sticking out of drawers and she's 50/50 on putting dirty clothes in the basket.

Kitchen and bathroom needs doing PROPERLY at some point, but it's hard to do without toddlers doing things they shouldn't.

I should just give up and try again in 5 years.....

DH and DD1 are tidier than me, I like things neat so keep on top of my laziness and pick up behind me. DD2 however is a nightmare but will put stuff away if nagged.

Oh my goodness to all of those....

As a mother and wife I get tired of my own voice nagging at them all about doing day to day things like for the kids

Brush your teeth,
Wash your face
Clean your nose
Put cream on your face
Get dressed
Comb your hair

They are 7 and 8!! Like really do I have to remind them about basic things!!!!????

I am losing the will to live!
