I'm not sure I fully understand what doing a 'two minute hotspot' means

Please miss(FGS) could you explain?

I'm serious btw, I just tidied some stuff up the other day and I dont think that is it, is it?

DontDreamItBeIt · 27/02/2008 10:39

Hotspot...You are right. It is just spendin two minutes putting away things froman area tht constantly builds up clutter and mess, o keep it from getting too bad. Mine is next to the computer, on top of the fish tank, Oh there are alot of hotspots in this house!

FunkyGoldStar · 27/02/2008 10:46

Jas beat me to it. Just spend 2 minutes tidying a pile of shie, putting away things that dont belong in that pile on the table, stairs, wherever and that is your hotspot done.

If you do 2 mins every morning then that is 10 mins during the week that you've done without noticing and things slowly start to start living where they're meant to.

Morning, not got going yet today, no sleep due to children falling out of bed and earthquakes and then just being pg and awake I hate that bit.

Have got boys to school and ordered b'day present for ds3 so now I need to.....

  1. S and S
  2. load dishwasher
  3. Get washing out of machine and to dry
  4. Put more washing on
  5. Make phone call
  6. do a bit of sorting in ds3's room
  7. Same in playroom, find the floor and hoover/ mop would be good.
  8. Eat something should do this first i think
  9. Buy bread
10. Think about dinner

Too much to read last night and this morning lots of doing really well yesterday, especially those doing this with a baby, keep it up

tortoise · 27/02/2008 11:02

Morning.
I still have a head ache and feel a bit light headed! Local child minder passed DD2 and I this morning and offered to take DD2 with her to toddlers. I had said i wasn't going because a didn't feel up to it. So off DD2 went and i pushed an empty buggy home lol!

So i have managed to clean front room windows inside and out! And re-made and shook crumbs off Mickey's bed! Need to slowly clear up toys which are all over the floor. Will do it sat down as still feel a bit dizzy.

Must remember 2.30pm smear test!

TR Glad you are still going to look into a cleaner.
TMH I have no routines whatsoever! I have written them down over the years of being on FLY thread but none ever stick!

TrinityRhino · 27/02/2008 11:21

she rang back
we are getting a cleaner

Lol @ Ruby! My friend said today she has NEVER had one. She is 27 and has 3 kids! I told her she must book one!

Thats great news TR.

Floor is tidy and i managed to do a quick hoover.

DD2 should be back in about half an hour.

Will try and wash up the breakfast bits in a min. Also must put the rest of the washing away or DS's won't be able to get into bed later.

babyjjbaby · 27/02/2008 11:38

I kept geting the apps when I was pregnant so then forgot to remake them for when I wasn't

tortoise · 27/02/2008 11:51

TR You must make an appointment! It is very important!

tortoise · 27/02/2008 12:03

Bugger! I have just read the newsletter DD2 brought home from pre-school on Tuesday! Thursday (tomorrow!!!!) is dress as a pop star day! HELP! Need ideas quick.

sushistar · 27/02/2008 12:11

Hey all. I've done sod all this morning- me and ds up, fed him, chnaged him, ate breakfast, fed him again, cleaned his gunky eye. Made drs appointment for him as he's really bunged up so finding feeding difficult. Cancelled on my friend - was due to go round hers for coffee, she also has 12 week old but don't want to give him a cold too!

I'm going to eat lunch, then go to drs, then to the shops. Then come home to the mess!

sushistar · 27/02/2008 12:13

trinity great news about the cleaner.
tortoise how about puffed up hair and eyeliner - amy winehouse? (Sorry, she may not be a very suitable role model for your dd tho!!)

tortoise · 27/02/2008 12:15

lol not the best roll model! And DD2 has a short bob so not sure it would go very big.
Any ideas are helpful though.

damewashalot · 27/02/2008 12:18

Janni · 27/02/2008 12:28

Hello ALL- busy thread! Flat a mess but feel peculiarly relaxed at the moment...Did my duty by taking DD to her fave toddler group - I think she likes it because they serve choc. biscuits!

Need to:
make lunch and clear up kitchen

BiancaCastafiore · 27/02/2008 12:52

Tort does it have to be a known popstar or can you just put her in shades do her hair etc? Hope the smear test is OK
Great news TR I agree ith FGS that the routines are still important in order for you to feel more on top of everything

I've been and read at school I really enjoy going in and helping
Have come home and made some lunch which I am munching whilst on here then must run the hoover round and fold and put away some laundry.
Ds is going to play with a friend this pm so I have dd to myself after school
Better get on, back later x

FunkyGoldStar · 27/02/2008 12:56

sushi - you've done lots, hardly sod all!

Just a word from the wise to some of the new guys. It's easy to get carried away when you start flylady and then feel demoralised when it becomes too much. The whole point of flylady is doing things in small manageable chunks that are appropriate to you. You build your routine, and you decide when to apply it. If you need a break then take one.

Here is my afternoon routine

  1. Clear away lunch things - done
  2. Empty/reload dishwasher - done
  3. Hang out/collect washing - done
  4. Swish & swipe downstairs loo
  5. 15 minutes
  6. DRINK SOME WATER - done
  7. Kelly?s Mission

Will go and do my 15 mins in this weeks zone, do the mission at the same time and then that's me for the day. Will pop back later to administer stern looks at those who need it, and soothing brow-mopping to the other half of you ;)

tortoise · 27/02/2008 13:04

Bianca No i don't think it does have to be a named pop star. ~Glad you had a good time at the school. I hope to be able to help out once DD2 starts school.

babyjjbaby · 27/02/2008 13:49

i can't be bothered to clean up downstairs am going out in a min might do it when i get back i finnaly just got him dresed ma did lunch i put the teatowles and dusters in the wash with some napisan to make them look a bit bettwer and scrubbed the chip pan thats it lol

tortoise · 27/02/2008 13:54

I am getting very anxious! Iknow having a smear done isn't that bad but i still don't want to go! Have to take DD2 with me too!
Suppose i had better S&S 'downstairs' lol!

BiancaCastafiore · 27/02/2008 14:10

Hope it all goes OK Tort. Lol at s&s downstairs!

I have folded some laundry but not a lot else. It's a lovely day here so I'm going to have a walk across the fields to school

Had a nap while DD watched DVD so not very productive but was tired!

Tort - I hate going for smear tests but am then surprised at how quickly they're over with! Good luck.

Need to: hang laundry and put clean away

Very glad that Flylady isn't paying me a visit today
