What does your cleaner do?

Just that really? I've had my cleaner maybe 5/6 years now I feel she's getting a bit slap dash. She used to do every week but now it's every other since Covid. (Two hours) but I can't remember the last time she dusted, especially up a height or moved anything for example vacuum under the dining table. She does a good job with the bathrooms and kitchen. She never does mirrors/windows (inside) skirting boards which is the jobs I need doing as I can run the vacuum round. It's not a massive house and I have said if it takes longer to invoice me. I have toyed with idea of having her every week again but she shows no interest in wanting the work. I appreciate two hours isn't long so I don't want to be unreasonable with my expectations and she is a lovely lady and I don't want to upset her but I'm not sure how to approach this. TIA

It sounds like she can't be bothered anymore. I think it's time to move on to someone else.

My cleaner doesn't do kitchens and bathrooms, I can do that easily. She does all the shit I turn a blind eye to, indoor windows, dusting, inside cupboards, fridge etc.

If you only have her two hours every other week it's not really going to be possible for her to do a full deep clean.

2 hours every other week isn’t much unless it’s a 2 bed flat she probably doesn’t have time for much more than the absolute basics and just invoice me isn’t specific enough and she might have another job to get to straight after you.

I would be really specific and say I now want x, x and x doing every time, how much longer would that take, can you do longer at the current start time or do we need to change the slot. If that doesn’t work out then get rid and find someone else.

I have two hours every other week - terrace with loft conversion. It was never intended as a whole house clean as that's not enough time. By agreement, she does full clean of two bathrooms, hoovers whole house and mops hard floors, plus whatever other bits and bobs she has time for. I hate cleaning bathrooms and it helps me keep on top of things.

I’m a cleaner. Write a list each week of what you want done or give her feedback

ASGIRC · 21/07/2023 22:29

My cleaner does the usuals, kitchen, bathrooms, hoover, changing beds, etc.

When I want her to do a more in depth clean, I ask her to be there for a couple more hours and give her a specific list of what I want done: the oven, the exhaust, the windows, dusting the high shelves, etc.
