Single mattress topper for double bed?

My oh has a bad back and we brought a firmer orthopaedic mattress and got rid of our old memory foam one. However I’m really uncomfortable. Can I get a single mattress topper for my side or will that not really work?

You'd have a ridge down the middle of bed. If you were to do it I'd buy some elastic and run a couple of long straps from the top to bottom to hold it in place without disturbing your dh.
