we've moved house, husband is ferrying crap to and from tip, two small children at home and another one soon to be back from school...

am surrounded by boxes, and sat in the middle with the baby, almost weeping and unable to see where to start.

So much stuff we said we'd throw away has had to come with us and my lovely new house looks like a bomb site. I feel like burning it and running away but this wouldn't be productive.

Someone, please god, give me short, single syllable instructions in a list to help me begin sorting it out, since my brain is unable to function...

did you label and pack like wiht like as you went? If so, stack the boxes neatly int eh appropriate rooms, and empty one at a time, don;t start the enxt oen unitl the current one is empty and collapsed.
If not, then, stack them altogether somewhere preferably not in your main living area, adn empty one at a time.
be really strict about one at a time, whatever you do, otherwise you haev a huge poile of half empty boxes, and no room to move. Good luck!

also, stack the boxes along a wall, adn cover with a sheet. Tehn you can't see them, and it look less intimidating.
when we moved, I totally filled what is now the study with cardboard boxes (there was a whole vanful of just boxes ), and emptied them over three months (ignoring the stack which went straight into the loft, adn which we emptied last summer, 7 years after moving, to discover one of them had kitchen cupboard stuff.....).

Unpack your essentials first so you can eat, sleep and bathe comfortably. If everything is labelled then put any boxes that aren't going to be needed straightaway - board games, books, filing etc up in the attic, shove anything you were going to throw out in the garage for the time being and sort it later. Do one room completely/have one room clear of boxes - not necessarily all at once, not even today but just so that in the next couple of days you have one space that has no boxes that you can sit in as a refuge from it all with a cuppa. Probably a mn sin but eat micro meals and takeaway for the next few nights until things are a bit more settled or if you've got pals nearby invite yourself over for a meal, I'm sure they'd love to help.

Really feel for you, I was in the exact same position just 5 months ago (except for having one at school) - it will be ok and you're house will be beautiful. It's not easy and it will take some time but don't be too tough on yourself, you've done great to get moved with 2 littlies. Huge hugs x
