Brabantia washing line

Hi, we have a rotary line that fits into a mount in patio. Mount was cemented in I think.

Just had patio regrouted and any loose slabs cemented down. But they forgot the put the washing line mount back into its hole properly Just pushed it into place.

Does it need cement I assume as grout will bot be strong enough, already tilting a bit.

Or do any of you put in into the grass instead. Not sure what the best idea is?

Ours is in grass, we used a heavy crowbar to poke a fairly deep hole into the grass then hammered it in, that was several years ago and it has never gone wobbly.

We inherited one and it was cemented in circa 1985. The whole thing has collapsed after nearly 40 years. We had to buy an axle grinder to cut down the pole.

We bought a 50m and shoved it into the grass. It’s fine. I have 3 loads of washing on it today. As long as you bash the spike tube in deep enough it won’t fall over.

Ours uses the ground spear in the lawn. It's great, but if the ground is wet I sometimes wish it was over a patio so my shoes don't get wet / muddy.

We found that we tend to always stand in the same place to load an unload it (because its next to a bench which is handy for sitting the basket on) and the grass would get all worn and muddy, but I put some plastic stepping stone things on the grass, they have gradually embedded in and stop it wearing down to mud

We have a Brabantia line that's attached to the side of the house, it's the same shape as a rotary but doesn't spin IYSWIM. You pull it out when needed and it folds away. I've found Brabantia to have excellent customer service if parts break etc.

Thanks for all replies. Need to think about how to get it cemented into patio if poss. If not grass it is.

We have a rotary Brabantia washing line in a ground spear in the grass. We've had it a it 20 years. I just wear old trainers to hand out the washing, and don't mind my feet getting muddy.
