There's a cockroach in my washing machine...

Ok so I've just got back from my holiday... I've done several loads of washing and I've just put the last wash in... it's finished and I've opened the door and there's an actual cockroach in my washing machine. It's dead.

I absolutely hate any form of insects and I'm a slight clean freak so I'm actually traumatised 🤣

Does anyone know... is this likely to be a coincidence and the cockroach has travelled back with me (although I only saw one whilst I was away) or is it likely that I have an infestation in my house?

I can't answer the question but I'm impressed you managed to kill one, I thought they were indestructible having been here since the dinosaurs and will probably still be here after the apocalypse

I'd say it came back in your case.

Definitely share your horror at this. And I'd be binning the case for that and the possibility of bed bugs.

Shock Hopefully it was in the case. This has to be the best explanation (if there can be a 'best')

Where did you go on holiday? If the Hebrides then unlikely you brought the cockroach back with you. If a hot country then highly likely. I lived in Spain some years ago and we regularly had to deal with cockroaches. They are horrible so you have my full sympathy.

Theyre easy to kill!
They are just indestructible as a species.
When I was a kid I learned that they could survive for something like 2 weeks without a head, because their brain isnt there. They would starve to death after those 2 weeks!

But a good spray of Raid, or a good stamping kills them DED! D. E. D. DED!

(source: I live in a hot country and cockroaches are part of summer life 😭)
