Washing Egyptian Cotton Sheets

Saw an older thread about whether you can actually wash M&S Egyptian Cotton sheets at 60 degrees (when label says 40) for allergies. Has anyone bought these or another type very recently and washed them at 60 without much shrinking? Bought John Lewis in the past and they were fine at 60, but their latest ones no longer say 60 degrees, and every time we wash them they shrink some more! Just bought the other ones on their website that say 60 degree washable, but when they arrived, they also say wash at 40 degrees on the label!

No idea. Mine came from House of Fraser, are ancient and really soft. They get a cool wash as I don't have allergies. well I do but not bedding-related ones
Could you tackle the allergens with a pre-wash soak of some sorts and wash them on cool?

Mine say 40°.

I ignore the label and wash at 60°. No shrinkage. Lovely clean sheets.

They do wear out more quickly though.

That might be why mine have lasted so well.

I have the M&S ones and I wash them at 60. No problems at all.

Just be careful of colour run. My sugarplum ones don’t affect my white towels but the blue ones do.
