Removing stains from white t shirts

bjonesreborn · 23/06/2023 18:03

My husband works in construction and for some unknown reason he wore white t shirts for work this week 🙄 they are covered in mud/clay/I don’t know what!
I’ve soaked them in vanish and it has only shifted it a bit.
can I bleach them and if so what ratio do I use? Or any other bright ideas welcome
thank you

Use bio washing powder and hang them in the sunshine to dry

Apparently Vanish, and cheaper options, need hot water to activate the active ingredients. I add the powder to properly hot water, swirl it round a few times then add cooler water. Soak the item for 24 hours and repeat if needed. Took 5 days of soaking to clean some especially grubby white shoe laces recently, but it worked.

And yes to drying in sunlight.

I'd soak them in Biotex powder solution first.
