Housekeeper Arrangements

I’ve finally come to the realisation that I need more help at home with domestic tasks and am looking for inspiration on potential arrangements. We currently have a cleaner once a week and the house looks amazing once she’s been but quickly deteriorates again and DH and I seem to spend a ridiculous amount of our limited free time tidying, cleaning the kitchen and doing laundry etc. DC are too young to properly tidy up after themselves (both under 3) and the laundry alone feels overwhelming at the moment. So we think we need to supplement the cleaner with a housekeeper of sorts who could come a few times a week and help us keep on top of things. If anyone has a similar set up, it would be really helpful to hear how the arrangement works in practice (eg what days of the week do they come, how long for and what do they do)! TIA

Mothers help?
Student to come and hang out washing put away help sort toys at the end of the day? Daily help / well, little but often is best if you can get it. Are you in a town/city?

Agree daily help at the end of the day would be amazing! I had assumed no one would want to come for 1-1.5hrs a day as it’s such a short slot but students could be a good idea. We live near(ish) a mid-size town. I thought mothers help was more childcare rather than housekeeping but I’ll def look into that, thank you.

Maybe ask your cleaner to come more often. You know she does a good job and she knows your house and prob knows what will need doing

We have 3 hours in the afternoon 4 days a week - its amazing. All cleaning, ironing, sheets, will do kids tea if asked, puts out bins, errands like parcels or dry cleaning. She has other cleaning jobs in the mornings.

That would be good but she doesn’t have any other free slots unfortunately!

She sounds magical! Thanks, that’s helpful to know.
