Wine bottle stopper recommendations

None of my local supermarkets have wine bottle stoppers, aka wine savers, the things you use to seal the bottle when you've not drunk all the wine.

Which ones would you recommend? Do the kind with a little lever on to create some vacuum make a difference?

Because I'm going to have to buy online and I hate buying things that I can't look at first to get a feel for how they work.

If you message me I'll post a vacuvin to you (I have a supply of new, boxed ones left from a project).

@CoachBeardsJane 😂 That's got "Dsis" written all over it.

@SleepingisanArt Thank you for the offer. I'm not comfortable with giving my address out though. With your experience from your project, are those vacuum types any good?

I'd go for the Vacuvin - DP bought one for me some years back, wouldn't be without it as it works on other bottles too.

The vacuvin is the best of the stoppers for wine. I've tried many types both at home and in the hospitality industry and it is by far the best. (Also have a similar thing for fizz which pumps air back into the bottle and is the best thing i have found without spending mega bucks.)

Vacuvin definitely the best one. You need the pump though and the branded sort is better. One day I'll get the sort for preservation of fizzy wine too (they aren't good at that).

(Also I want to know what sort of project results in leftover vacuvins!!) @SleepingisanArt Smile

Wine tasting events - not stuffy and pompous but very down to earth and a great deal of fun. Sold the stoppers plus other bits (waiters friends etc) along with the wines if anyone wanted them after the event.

@SleepingisanArt I'm not too proud to ask or worried about giving my address so if the offer is open to all, I'd love a vacuvin please . I'm happy to pay postage or a bit extra too. I lost mine in the divorce and I've only just realised how much I miss it with you mentioning it!

Love a wine tasting! I wish I knew enough about it to sort some out for my friends, as they are (unsurprisingly really!) expensive to attend generally

I did a sherry tasting earlier in the year, which was easier as none of my friends drink sherry, so I was able to showcase an example from each wine type and a paragraph or two of explanation without anyone expecting me to be an expert.

StartinOverAgain - just private message me your address and I'll happily send one to you
