Insane amount of puke in an upholstered sofa

My toddler managed an impromptu exorcist style watery vomit on the upholstered sofa.

We dismantled it, took it to the garden to clean it - removed the puke, used my vax cleaner TWICE and let it sit in the sun in the hope that would help sanitise it a bit.

It still smells - what else can I do? I fear its sink into the cushions which I cant get into.....

The only thing I found to work was bicarbonate of soda. Washing etc I found made it worse. I use to sprinkle the fabric completely/generously and I would sprinkle a SMALL amount of shake n vac, leave for 24 hours and hoover off.
