What's going on with my laundry?

In a normal wash, I use fairy powder and fabric softener. My clothes aren't softening at all! What's going on?!

Are you in a soft water area? If so, it's recommended to use the extra rinse option. Also use the lowest dosage of powder.

In a hard water area, add 2 tbsp of soda crystals (I can't believe the difference this has made, took a couple of washes to really take effect)

Maybe your water company has changed the reservoir or borehole they source your supply from.
