Can I save our clothes?

We use a laundry service for our washing. One of the ones that pick up and return it the next day washed, dried and folded.

We’ve never had any issues with them, except the last service, our clothes didn’t seem clean. All the stains that were there before were still there, so it seems like they didn’t put any detergent when they washed it, or perhaps washed it in cold water.

They re-did the wash and as I feared, the stains are still there, although lighter. I suspected washing clothes in 40 degrees and then putting it in a tumble dryer will just entrench the stains in the clothes and that seems to be what has happened.

Are our clothes ruined? Or is there still hope? It was all just food stains, nothing else.

There's always hope, but it may depend on what kind of food stains they are.

Can you rewash with stain remover? For stains that haven't shifted, using the vanish stain removing stick (and rubbing vigorously into both sides of the stain) usually does the trick for me.

And hang them outside in the sun to dry, as this also helps remove stains, especially tomato stains I've found.

Rub some washing up liquid in and wash on a long wash - I've found 30° is fine if it's a longer cycle.

Put Ace spray stain remover on and leave for a couple of days, wash them hang outside to dry in the sun. If they are still slightly stained just keep leaving them outside all day until it's gone.
