Vacuum cleaner recommendations

As title. It's near time for me to get a new hoover. Currently have a Dyson which I don't love.
Not a massive house. Carpet mostly. Tile & vinyl in two rooms.
Thanks all Smile

I'm in the same boat so will be following your post. I have an old corded Dyson and find it very heavy and hard to carry up the stairs especially as I have osteoarthritis.
I do have a lightweight shark that I keep upstairs but it doesn't feel as powerful so not sure how little it's actually getting up. It's also a fold over one which is good for storing but doesn't stand up by itself which is a pain. So I'm on the lookout for a good one to keep upstairs that won't get stuck and become unmovable on deeper pile carpets 😊🤣

I have a corded shark anti hair wrap and really like it. I have a small home with wood floors or laminate in most rooms though so can't say how it performs on carpet. I really like how flexible the lift away function makes it.

I had a Henry for years. It got on my nerves lugging it around with the long hose and cord. I now have a shark. Its very good. Also a fold over one. It does stand up by itself and picks up well.

Miele.

Pjmasksonrepeat · 01/06/2023 19:41

I had a shark but after a few years it lost its suction. I then purchased a Henry and love it. Its bulky bit amazingly simple and so powerful.

fizzyfood · 01/06/2023 19:42

Miele or sebo

Bluebellsbells · 01/06/2023 20:41

I just discovered the Dyson robot which looks amazing! But at £899 it will have to remain a fantasy vacuum! Also would you need to buy one for upstairs as well as down? And could it even clean the stairs??

toddlermum27 · 01/06/2023 21:04

Miele

I like my Sharks. Got a cordless and a standard plug in. We had Dyson cordless before and they were crap.

rainbowlanyardsupmybumbum · 08/06/2023 14:52

I got a Daewoo one from Farmfoods for £50 and it performs far better than the bagless Shark or Vax Blade which I threw out both of them as they were crap.

marmitegirl01 · 17/07/2023 22:11

Bought myself a cordless stick Samsung. Think I'm a bit in love 🤣

It looks like you're ready for a new vacuum! Based on the recommendations, you might want to consider a Shark or Miele for a good balance of power and ease of use. If you're looking for something more budget-friendly, a Daewoo could be a great option. Happy cleaning!

InsomniacIda · 03/08/2024 07:29

SEBO. They go on and on and are very effective. They are heavy though.

Coastalcreeksider · 03/08/2024 07:45

I have two SEBO vacuums, both corded, bagged ones. I bought the second one recently to leave upstairs as they are quite heavy. It's hospital grade so it cleans very well and is quite the work horse, excellent suction too.

Never found a cordless bagless vacuum I liked, including the Dyson.

SEBO all the way here.
