Is professional carpet cleaning good?

I've had my cream wool carpet professionally cleaned a couple of times plus a rug and some spot stains on furniture.

I've always gone with a company offering a non toxic cleaning product.

Thing is it's never made a difference. I don't know if it's the stains or my carpet but people rave about carpet cleaning and I've only had meh results.

My DD threw up spaghetti bolognese (not ideal!!) all over her carpet and everyone assured me just get a cleaner. Granted I messed with the stains myself in the middle of the night in a panic but now it still looks so bad after cleaning.

Do I need to book someone in who doesn't offer the non toxic products?!

years ago (less internet, not so much info re chemicals) we hired a professional cleaner after toddler had projectile vomited in the living room. We had cleaned but the smell and stain lingered.
The professional cleaner made the carpet look amazing so I’m guessing it was the chemicals.
