Help. Nikwaxed the floor.

I was waterproofing rain coats with nikwax and made a stupid husband style decision...I did it on the kitchen floor!

Yes, I've nikwaxed the kitchen tiled floor. It is so slippery...even the cats won't walk on it. Someone is going to get hurt if I don't fix this.

Isopropyl alcohol didn't work, boiling water and soap didn't work.

How can I get it off??? DH is quite smug that I've done something so stupid.

White spirit should take it off, just be extremely careful as white spirit is so flammable. Eg, keep the area well ventilated, don't use too much at once so you might have to do one patch at a time, use kitchen towel you can put in a carrier bag and tie up before throwing away so there's less fire risk etc

Oh and don't have the cooker on while you do it! And wet the kitchen roll after you've used it before you throw it away to reduce the risk of fire and wash the floor well after.
