Do I want a robot vacuum?

Am being driven mad by Labrador hair and considering options. Are robot vacs any good? Does it really just do it on its own? We have a mix of wood, tile and carpet and even the vacuum smells of dog so I need something.

Does it go from room to room? Any opinions very welcome.

Ive a eufy and its rubbish! Needs recharged after he spends 2 hours moving dirt around the kitchen floor.

Getting Karcher robot that vacs and mops has been a total game changer for us. Love it. Mix of carpet and hard floor. We live in a barn conversion that is one level though.

I love our eufy but we don't have pets. I do find I have to occasionally still hover the edges of rooms as it's not great at getting into corners. We leave ours running when we're all out and it's lovely to come back to it done. My friend tells me if you have pets you may want to supervise it/make sure there's no shit on the floor first and not to ask how she knows this!

We have two, one upstairs and one downstairs! They are brilliant. The upstairs Eufy is a bit daft and just bumbles around banging into stuff, but it's just a cheap basic model. He was originally our downstairs one and has been used every day for over 2 years and is still going strong.

Downstairs we have Nessie, our Deebot who also mops. She's more fancy and has a map etc so you can tell her to clean specific rooms or even just specific areas (like when DD emptied a welly full of sand on the kitchen floor). And the mop function keeps our floors fresh between proper mops (which are few and far between in our house!)

Our Eufy is called Roofy (the kids named him) and he’s my favourite person in the house. He has meant I now vacuum once a week (skirting, corners plus a mop) whereas previously I was vacuuming twice a day because my boys are basically made of crumbs, grass and those little black bits of rubber from 4G football pitches. The robot has changed my life and the kids treat him like a pet.

He was a gift from Santa to the whole family (and a surprise from my husband) and honestly I’ve never loved that man more than when I opened that present 😂
