New mattress for DD

Turquoisestone · 08/05/2023 12:14

Hi all, I need a new single mattress for my DD (3) as DS is now inheriting her old cot bed mattress. We bought one online that seemed reasonable but on arrival had a terrible chemical stink. I know off gassing is normal but after 5 days of airing (including some time outside), vacuuming and bicarbonate the smell is still bad enough that I don’t want DD sleeping on it. Luckily we’ve arranged a return and maybe I’m suffering from PFB but can anyone recommend a mattress that doesn’t have this problem? I don’t really want to pay for a top end one as she’s still young enough that there are likely to be accidents and messes but if it’s a case of you get what you pay for then I will. Thanks 🙂
