Apologies… phlegmy vomit?!

I’m sorry this is really disgusting but…
My DD was sick on her bedsheet this morning, not from a tummy bug but from gagging when trying to clear phlegm, and the vomit is basically like thick slime stuck to the sheet. It hasn’t gotten anywhere else as she had a puppy pad underneath to save the mattress protectors and mattress if she wets the bed and she somehow managed to keep it contained to that one area. The vomit doesn’t have any bits (the few that were there I scooped up with baby wipes) but the whole lot is just like mucus and won’t easily wipe off before going in the washing machine.
I suppose my question is should I just chuck it in a hot wash with detergent and laundry cleanser, slime and all? Or should I continue to attempt to de-phlegm it first (but that was making me gag and I nearly vomited too!) I can’t find any useful information about this online and I hoped someone else might have experience in this that they could share 🙈

I would just rinse it off in the bath, or even just rinse that section in the sink, then put it in the wash.

Thank you! I’ll do that, I’m not sure it will rinse easily though, it is very thick like golden syrup, gotta love parenting 🤢😬😂
