I have 2 days next week with no work and no DD or DP vote now....

I am in a tizz and don't know what to tackle first, I have so much to do, place your votes for priorities please

  1. Shred the HUGE pile of branches in my garden (a weeks worth of nap times pruning). Then finish digging the borders so DP knows where to put the Lawn I have been nagging about.
  1. Clean the house top to bottom, 4 bedrooms and it has hardly been touched for 17m (especially upstairs where no one else goes ). The day to day stuff will still get done but I am talking skirting boards and cobwebs. DP will not notice any of this effort!
  1. Sort out all the clutter for the tip/Charity Shop. There is a LOT. Will require several runs to both destinations.
  1. Get my Hair done and spend the £50 voucher I have for the local Spa.

I am tempted to do a combination of the 4 but I know I will feel I have not achieved anything if I don't actually finish at least one of the first 3. Obviously I have 2 days so I am planning on doing at least 2 of these but I need some guidance from some more organised types

if you would enjoy no 4 then that HAS to feature on one of the days.
Then I guess which you would get the most satisfaction from, no 2 would be well down my list!
No 3 - could you sort and store? Charity stuff could go in bags that are doorstopped and tip stuff out with the rubbish? This might cut down the time involved.

De-clutter then pamper YOURSELF!

cluelessnchaos · 17/02/2008 21:02

4 would be my first choice with good book in starbuck with huge latte,

but if you want to feel virtuous, def no 1 but in other order dig borders and then shred branches and use as mulch on aforementioned borders.

The other two are def too dull to waste on ahild free day.

cheeseontoast · 17/02/2008 22:19

1, as summer will soon be here, you need that lawn asap. Then 4, as you will be needing a massage and a manicure.

2 and 3 could be done bit by bit in the evenings, and not worth wasting child-free time on imo.

Ahh! Clever cluelessnchaos. Will save a fortune on Bark chips!

chasingsquirrels - that is my problem, I sort things then store them and do nothing with them

I like the idea of decluttering but there is so much it is more than 2 days work

Thanks for the input Ladies.

No 4 has to come into it. I am thinking the afternnon of the 2nd day - gives me something to work towards. I won't get through it all though.

x posts cheeseontoast - that is my feeling - I have a veg patch etc that I am ITCHING to sort out. I love gardening and sit staring at it all getting really frustrated that I wasted all that time pre DD by not doing what I want when I had the time! Last Summer was so bad that even when I did have the odd bit of time I could not do anything.

no 3 would be really rewarding... as would they all of course...

SlartyBartFast · 17/02/2008 22:27

on te other hand i spose it is more satisfying to do a job that you really can't do with a little one around?
so pehraps no. 2.
i no longer have a garden so that is low on my priorities. is my excuse

Sidge · 17/02/2008 22:30

I would do number 2 on one day, and then number 4 the next day
