I have a sandalwood necklace that unfortunately has been attacked by mildew over the winter. Is there any method to clean it which does the double whammy of eradicating any spores and not damaging the wood?
I have used undiluted white vinegar in areas of the basement of my house (coastal property) to clean a small build up of mildew but I have read that it shouldn't be used undiluted on wood?
It has great sentimental value so I would love to save it if at all possible. And no, I won't be leaving it in said coastal house over winter again!
