Anyone tried Purdy and Figg?

I love the idea and all the (probably filtered) views are very positive BUT I hate the fact that you have to subscribe (sure, you can 'cancel at any time' if you're prepared to jump through hoops of fire...). Would love to hear your honest reviews if you have tried it... TIA

They've currently got the multi-surface cleaner with a free glass bottle and 3 refills for £15. I can't see where it says it's subscription only. Plus their stuff is on Amazon too.

GingerPigz · 30/04/2023 17:47

Definitely a subscription at that price (I've got the deal in my basket ready to go)... but very useful tip about Amazon - thank you.

I haven’t tried Purdy and Figg (and won’t at their prices I’m afraid) but can recommend Bio-D. Most of their products are unscented, so you can add your own essential oils.

https://biod.co.uk/

Worth having a look at/trying, especially if they have a stockist in your area. A really good website with lots of information.

They don’t use glass containers, but explain why:

We are often asked why we don’t swap to glass packaging for our liquid products, but our in-depth research has proven recycled plastic to still be more sustainable when we consider manufacturing temperatures, product weight, raw materials, recycling energy and usability.
Plastic is a 12th of the weight of glass, making it easier to transport, and processing used plastic requires less water, less fossil fuels and less energy than glass.

I subscribed just before Christmas and cancelled as soon as it arrived (though it's well hidden on their website!).

The stuff was OK but not worth the hype in my opinion. Smells lovely going on but doesn't linger. Not great on glass/mirrors and not antibacterial.

Same here, nice enough but I think I like the method refills better. They're also cheaper.

I did find it easy to unsubscribe though, which was in their favour.

Big thanks everyone, much appreciated... think I will stick with Method!

I really like P&F stuff, but I add a bit of fragrance-free washing up liquid to the bottles for a bit more oomph and eke the oils out a bit longer by only using half of one per bottle. I find that gives plenty of scent. I find the Method smells a bit cloying in comparison now. I did really like them then I think I overused them and now I find them too sweet and overbearing. The P&F ones are less intrusive.

Hugasauras · 01/05/2023 14:17

Also it was very easy to cancel my sub.

sittingonacornflake · 01/05/2023 14:26

I Love P&F it smells amazing!

Triduntripper · 26/01/2024 22:30

You don’t have to subscribe, there’s a one time purchase option.

Ledlie · 22/06/2024 12:28

Terrible customer service, lots of complaints on reviews around this. Having to subscribe is complicated. The products work fine, but fairy liquid and a good cloth. Is probably better, cheaper and quicker. Purdy and Figg are ok if you are happy to throw money out the window and accept poor customer service.

Ledlie · 22/06/2024 12:32

Products are ok. Very Poor customer service,
subscription process is complicated.
Not recommended. Friary liquid is cheaper and better.

CeciliaMars · 22/06/2024 12:34

It's literally just an essential oil that you put in a spray bottle and top up with water. You can do the same thing so much cheaper yourself! It's a rip off. The smell doesn't even last.

soupfiend · 22/06/2024 12:36

Im always suspicious of brands with cutesie names, see also various brands of pet foods.

illashiza · 22/06/2024 12:44

I love the concept and the positive reviews, but I dislike the mandatory subscription with the hassle of cancellation. Have any of you tried it? I'd appreciate your honest feedback. Thanks in advance!

ADHDQueen · 22/06/2024 19:31

I got my box of Counter Clean & Bathroom Bliss yesterday. I tried it for the first time today. It does smell amazing & cleans pretty well too. My mirrors & kitchen cupboards never looked or smelt better. I'm interested to see if my daughter can smell it when she returns home later. 😍

Lokshen · 22/06/2024 19:37

Save your money. Smells are very hit and miss and they don't clean grease well at all.
Neat branded concentrate seems ok, but the pink one from Aldi was better and about 60p.

I haven't tried Purdy and Figg, but reviews suggest positive experiences. Subscription flexibility might vary, so it's good to check cancellation terms for clarity.
