I don't remember the last time I saw the bottom of the washing basket, but it looks like a nice sunny weekend so I might just do it!
I have
2x kids clothes
1x towels
1x underwear
1x work shirts
1x jeans
1x pajama/loungewear

2 loads to sort, iron or fold
1 load in the dryer
1 load in washer
3 loads need doing

Had overnight guests - lots of sheets and towels ...

whatadaythatwas · 29/04/2023 14:22

One on the line
One on the clothes horse
One in the machine
2 in the laundry basket

mondaytosunday · 29/04/2023 14:33

Have one going now. There is a duvet cover to do, could throw in a couple towels to make it a full wash I guess. Did one yesterday - I only do about three a week.

Sanch1 · 29/04/2023 14:36

1 dried and in, 1 on the line, 1 in the machine. Small white load that will probably go in with the bedding on Monday as rain forecast here tomorrow.

ThedaBara · 29/04/2023 15:17

This is actually quite interesting, am I the only one who sorts clothes into categories rather than colours? I find that it's easier to put away that way.
So it'll be
1 lot of really filthy kids stuff from nursery and school
1 lot of ok-ish kids stuff
1 lot of towels on hot
By knickers I mean anything delicate, I don't save up weeks worth of pants for a full load
Shirts go on a quick wash then straight on hangers to dry so I don't have to iron them
My machine has a denim setting, I don't know what it does but jeans go on that

I've done 2 loads today and 1 more to do. One was a white wash though. I wouldn't normally do 3 washes in one day, though it's not far behind that. There's 6 of us.

ELCismyspiritnana · 29/04/2023 15:29

1 load of sheets currently on a hot wash.
1 load of towels waiting to go in.
At least 2 loads of darks between the bathroom floor and wash basket Blush
Probably also enough for 1 wool wash.

It's raining here and at the moment have very limited storage for us adults so thr washing basket serves as overspill till we sort our room out.

I tend to hang clothes by ‘people’ and I put them in a box for each person once they’re dried. So the sorting is at that end.

How do you have a whole load for jeans?

BigMacAttack · 29/04/2023 15:42

3 x underwear
2 x towels
1 x red load
3 x darks

Today I have already washed:

2 x school uniform
1 x school shirts and polo tops

I hate putting laundry away. Takes days.

Floralnomad · 29/04/2023 15:49

My washing today was
1x towels
1x stuff that goes in the drier
1x stuff that doesn’t go in the drier
which is basically how my washing is sorted all the time .

Mustardandchickensandwiches · 29/04/2023 15:52

Those of you with 'too many to count' have waaaayyyyy too many clothes.

Have a massive clear out and buy a larger capacity washing machine. You'll feel better for it.

Due to my 11kg washer, there are only ever a maximum of 5 loads in my house and that's if we've worn absolutely everything we have.

Sweetladyjane · 29/04/2023 15:55

I was on top of it but teenage DD has just tidied her room and come downstairs with two black bags of washing……. I think it’s about I time I taught her how to use the washing machine!

mynewusername2023 · 29/04/2023 15:57

Two loads currently drying on racks in the dining room. A few items left in the basket but not enough for a load. Going away on Monday for a few days so getting everything done now. It is just DH and I so never too strenuous

MadeInChorley · 29/04/2023 15:59

Done today:

1 x darks
1 x colours
1 x whites and white towels

To do:

1 x darks
1 x guest bedroom bed linen

I probably average 2 loads a day (5 of us, 3 swimmers and sports players who train 3 times a week)

kitsuneghost · 29/04/2023 16:04

Half a white load.
Done sheets this morning and was really sunny so dried so quickly I put a darks on which is on the line now.

topcat2014 · 29/04/2023 16:04

Are all these loads full 9kg machine ones?

If so that seems a lot?

But then I bung the whole laundry basket in the machine in one go.

dramalynn · 29/04/2023 16:07

I can't seem to keep on top of it at the moment. SadI have four loads left to do, two will be half loads or quick washes.

I'm busier with work lately which doesn't help. Catching up today.

Blueicecream · 29/04/2023 16:08

Probably have 1 load that I need to do.

2 things help me to be organised here -

  1. The heating and recovery system in our house means I can dry clothes even when the weather is bad. No washing line or tumble drier needed.
  2. My amazing DM brings the kids home for me twice a week. While shes waiting for me to get back, she puts on a wash and then hangs it up on the airer for me when done.
Mistymoonsinastarrysky · 29/04/2023 16:08

A few bits waiting for a white wash. Two loads dried outside today waiting for ironing tomorrow morning.

Denise82 · 29/04/2023 16:16

I only ever have 1 load of washing, Just what's in the washing machine, and its currently half full and goes on when it's full.
I don't separate colours/ towels/ whites etc as I wash at cool temperatures so colours don't run, if something is soiled like muddy school trousers ill give them a quick hand wash before it does into the machine.

Sgtmajormummy · 29/04/2023 16:19

We’ve just come back from a week’s holiday so I’d say about 5. My machine is 7kg, 1400 rpm. I don’t have a tumble dryer but I do have a ceiling-mounted drying rack which is great for keeping things out of my eyeliner.
1 white
1 light
1 red & brown
1 blue & black
1 change of bedding & towels from DS/dog sitter(!)

I’ll probably get the first three washed and put out. The rest tomorrow.

Sgtmajormummy · 29/04/2023 16:21

Sorry autocorrect put an extra “r” in there!

RoseDog · 29/04/2023 16:28

I have nothing in the dirty basket, 1 load in the dryer, one load spinning in the washing machine and a mountain of clean washing on the dining table that will be sorted and put away in 7 - 10 business days!

TeenDivided · 29/04/2023 16:29

Zero. It's all outside drying.

lljkk · 29/04/2023 16:31

Pair of pants.
